Instructions
Find a flat ,safe and suitable area free from sharp objects and unroll the chamber.
Place some padding on ground if handy ie: a sleeping mat.
Lay chamber out of top of matting and attach the pump of choice.
Secure chamber so there is no risk of person falling or sliding away.
Recommended things to take inside with the recipient: pee bottle, phone/ communication device, alti watch, water, warm clothing, possible means to escape in an emergency such as a pocket knife.
Put the person and items inside, zip up the bag, begin pumping at a steady rate
A measuring device is needed either via a altimeter watch or pressure gauge on a pump
Once pressurised the bag will become very taught and full, continue pumping as needed to maintain pressure (10kpa max) and give the recipient fresh oxygen. Continuous pumping is required for 30 a minute maximum before a purge and a fresh cycle of oxygen is needed.
Maintain communication at all times and check in regularly with the person inside.
To purge oxygen pull zip slightly until an audible hiss can be heard. leave this for 1:30 mins then reseal zip.Continue this cycle for as long as needed
To deflate the bag do so slowly. Reduce pump rate, ask the recipient to put their finger in the pressure relief valve and begin to gently bring the air pressure back to ambient over a course of minutes or slowly break the seal on the zip by opening zipper in the same way you purge oxygen.
Once an audible hiss can be heard stop pulling and allow chamber to de pressurise.
Allow the pressure to come down to the ambient pressure before fully opening.
Remove person and contents, turn bag inside out and hang to dry.
